Nicola Curtis
Nicola Curtis founder of ‘Everyday Living’ has over sixteen years’ experience working with young people with severe disabilities, challenging behaviour and low-level learning difficulties. Over a decade ago Nicola applied to be a part of a behaviour unit at a well-known Special Educational Needs school with no experience prior, after not being appointed the position she was offered the role of a Learning Support Assistant, and within six months due to her natural flare and passion for the job she was promoted to her original aspirational position where she continued to thrive. The opportunity arose for Nicola to become a senior level teaching assistant which offered more experience and an insight into different elements of the job. This provided her with the intricate knowledge of how to lead and motivate a team of staff members and be readily available to support and cater to the personal needs of each young person. Nicola has also held other highly significant role’s such as Pastoral Care. This role entailed working with outside agencies, Social Services and other Care Providers. Within this role Nicola also trained as a Fun and Families and Grounded facilitator. Nicola delivered courses to assist and support parents, Carers, children and young people who experience behaviour and communication difficulties with their families.
Alongside the Pastoral role Nicola worked as part of a medical team where she gained medical knowledge, skills and understanding. This instilled a drive to provide a high level of care to others throughout her career.
Nicola is a very sociable, outgoing, fun loving person. She enjoys family life and quality time spent with her friends.
